Gravimetric Sampling —The Better Way

ACCU-CAP Cassette Insert
  • Contain entire sample
    • No loss of sample when removing filter from cassette
    • Static-dissipative material prevents loss of fiber due to static

  • Permit in situ extraction of contaminant

  • Ideal for sampling wood and paper fibers

  • Available for 25- or 37-mm two-piece cassettes

  • Preloaded, preweighed PVC membrane certified to 0.1-mg accuracy available

ACCU-CAP* is gravimetric sampling made easy. Ideal for sampling fibrous and static dust for gravimetric analysis, the ACCU-CAP dome-shaped filter capsule is molded of clear static-dissipative plastic and heat-sealed to a filter (see Filter Choices for ACCU-CAP below). ACCU-CAP is available for use with 25- or 37-mm two-piece cassettes with a support pad.

ACCU-CAP Inserts Are So Easy to Use

Simply open a two-piece cassette and insert a support pad on the bottom section (outlet) 1. Simply open a two-piece cassette and insert a support pad on the bottom section (outlet).
Insert the ACCU-CAP with the bubble facing up. 2. Insert the ACCU-CAP with the bubble facing up.
Press on the top section (inlet) of the cassette. The opening on top of the ACCU-CAP aligns with the inlet opening of the cassette. 3. Press on the top section (inlet) of the cassette. The opening on top of the ACCU-CAP aligns with the inlet opening of the cassette.

The ACCU-CAP Advantage

  • Static-dissipative material eliminates loss of sample through fibers clinging to the cassette to ensure analysis of the complete sample.

  • No loss of sample. The all-in-one ACCU-CAP insert is heat-sealed to a filter so there is never loss of sample because the filter and sample are always encased in the ACCU-CAP dome. ACCU-CAP even permits in situ extraction of contaminants.

  • Choice of filter material and pore sizes means ACCU-CAP can be used for a variety of applications.

  • Easy-to-use ACCU-CAP simply fits as a middle section in a two-piece cassette.

Using ACCU-CAP Cassette Inserts
ACCU-CAP cassette inserts are used with a two-piece cassette with support pad. Simply open the cassette and insert ACCU-CAP between the cassette's inlet and outlet sections. Sample as you would with a filter in a closed-faced filter cassette and according to method specifications.

One ACCU-CAP capsule retains the entire sample. The total weight of the ACCU-CAP capsule is <300 mg for the 37-mm and <200 mg for the 25-mm

ACCU-CAP Means No Sample Loss

Problem: Dust particles such as powders, wood, and light metals become statically charged due to the manner in which they are generated, i.e., during grinding, woodworking, or cutting. Sample loss can occur when these statically charged airborne particles are drawn into a plastic cassette and adhere to the inside of the cassette. To resolve this, cassettes are sometimes rinsed to remove the particles from the sides. However, this step can result in a diluted sample. Another point of sample loss due to static buildup is during removal of the filter from the cassette. Particles may be pulled off the filter and remain in the cassette.

Solution: ACCU-CAP! With ACCU-CAP, the entire particle sample is captured inside the one-piece ACCU-CAP capsule. No loss here! ACCU-CAP is also versatile; If an in situ contaminant extraction is required, perform it easily inside the ACCU-CAP capsule.
