OSHA Versatile Sampler
OSHA originally designed OSHA Versatile Sampler (OVS) Tubes to overcome the inconveniences of earlier methods. SKC OVS Tubes contain a filter to trap aerosols and a two-section sorbent bed to adsorb vapors in one specially constructed glass tube that eliminates cumbersome filter cassette and tube sampling trains. Only cleaned and verified materials are used in OVS Tubes to ensure low background interference. A flow rate of 1 L/min provided by a personal sample pump is typically used to obtain volumes ranging from 60 to 480 liters. Samples are solvent extracted and analyzed by GC or HPLC with detector.

Available with a variety of sorbent and filter combinations, SKC OVS Tubes are truly versatile for sampling applications including pesticides such as DDVP (dichlorvos), carbaryl (Sevin®), chlorpyrifos (Dursban®), Diazinon®, malathion, and parathion; explosives such as TNT, DNT; alcohols such as glycols; and biocides.

Other combinations of sorbents or filters following the OVS tube design are available by special order for research or other specialty uses. Contact SKC Sales with your tube specifications.

OVS Tube Holder

The OVS Tube Holder consists of a standard tube holder fitted with a special durable protective cover for the OVS tube. A collar clip fastened to the protective cover allows for easy attachment to a worker. A flexible metal coil surrounds the tubing just below the holder and allows the tubing to bend without blocking the airflow. The OVS Tube Holder is suitable for use with Universal XR, AirChek® 2000, and AirChek 52 sample pumps.

OSHA Versatile Sampler (OVS) tubes are typically used at a flow rate of 1.0 L/min provided by a personal sample pump. The special OVS tube holder is designed to accommodate the 13-mm diameter of SKC OVS tubes, provide a convenient clip to attach the tube in the breathing zone, and protect the tube during sampling.

OVS Tube Holder includes fitting with durable protective cover, 3 feet of tubing, and collar clip.

Tubing/Adapter Kit for Calibration of OVS Tubes
This new kit contains two sections of tubing and a tubing adapter to facilitate calibration of a sample pump when using an OVS Sorbent Tube. OVS Adapter Kit includes tubing and adapter for calibration of OVS tubes.

Multi-purpose Calibration Jar
The SKC Multi-purpose Calibration Jar provides convenient calibration when using a GS Cyclone, PUF tube, OVS tube, the IOM, or the PEM. Instead of packing four or five different calibration adapters for the field, pack only one Multi-purpose Calibration Jar. The rugged 32-ounce polypropylene jar contains a quick screw cap and barbed fitting for easy connection.
