Carbon Dioxide Monitor

Assessment of Indoor Air Quality

535 Carbon Dioxide Monitor

Features

  • Two-channel infrared sensor
    • Second reference beam allows for compensation of environmental and disturbing influences
    • No user calibration needed

  • Narrow CO2 probe allows measuring in fresh air and exhaust air channels

  • Uses reliable infrared absorption principle
    • Physical measuring technique does not display cross sensitivity to other gases

  • Long-term sensor stability

  • Wide measuring range; highly accurate
    • 0 to 9999 ppm (0 to 1 Vol. % CO2)

  • Completely reliable

  • Short-term and long-term monitoring

  • Simple and economical
    • Suitable for schools and commercial buildings

Applications

  • Testing stationary CO2 transmitters in demand controlled ventilating systems (DCVs)

  • Measuring the CO2 concentration in incoming and outgoing ducts

  • Monitoring indoor air quality in open plan offices

  • Providing quick readings wherever there is occupant distress

With its high correlation to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS), carbon dioxide concentration is frequently used to evaluate indoor air quality and ventilation. The reliable 535 Carbon Dioxide Monitor can be used to quickly and accurately assess carbon dioxide concentration levels on both a short-term and long-term basis. Easy to use and lightweight, the 535 monitor is completely portable. Its simple keypad makes it easy to operate in any setting. No user calibration is needed due to the monitor’s highly stable sensor. An optional protective case, wall mounting holder, carrying holder, and an infrared printer for documentation are all available separately.

Carbon Dioxide & IAQ

Elevated CO2 levels can cause occupants to complain of room stuffiness or a stale air smell. This means there is inadequate ventilation. Improper ventilation also promotes the build-up of other chemical and biological contaminants that can cause health effects in occupants. A method for evaluating IAQ is continuous CO2 monitoring using a datalogging instrument. Supplement CO2 monitoring with measurements of temperature, relative humidity, airflow movement, and airflow volume. For more information on products to sample these parameters, request Publication Nos. 1551, 1550, and 1549.
